Woowa Brothers Corp. announced on the 31st that its delivery app, 'Baemin', will become the first domestic delivery platform to support Apple Pay payments for credit cards issued overseas. Starting June 2, Apple Pay payments will be accepted via overseas cards such as VISA, Mastercard, JCB, and American Express (Amex). Previously, Apple Pay could only be used with domestically issued cards, but this expanded implementation will significantly improve payment convenience for foreign customers.

The proportion of overseas payments within the Baemin app has been increasing rapidly as of late. In fact, orders paid with overseas methods in the first quarter of this year grew about 3.7 times compared to the same period last year, while the overseas payment amount in April surged approximately 14 times compared to the same month last year.

Woowa Brothers is also continuously expanding its multilingual services to enhance convenience for foreign users. The company recently released an English guide on how to easily use the delivery app, and it operates services in English, Chinese, and Japanese utilizing generative AI based on Large Language Models (LLMs).

Choi Seong-gil, Head of the Payment and Settlement Product Division, stated, "Through our multilingual services and Apple Pay support for overseas cards, we hope that foreigners visiting Korea can experience our food delivery culture more conveniently."
